Probably the best burger I've had. Great folks, classic atmosphere, very friendly service. Brought my grandma and her best friend here to get lunch like they always used to and it was well worth the drive. I can see why they've been a community staple for so long! Delicious.

Nice little breakfast spot a little pricey but well worth it spent more time talking and joking with the staff than it took me to eat will definitely stop in again if im back in the area - the guy from the deep south

What a gem! I came here just looking for a good ol classic pancake breakfast and I was not disappointed! The sausage links were hot and cooked in my opinion to perfection. The pancakes were large and fluffy! Great portions of food. The staff was very kind and generous. Definitely recommended for a good diner breakfast.

We’ve lived in Eagan 15 years and only just discovered Hovies. Best diner we’ve found in all of the Twin Cities metro area and I can’t believe it’s in our town! First off, the service wasn’t just good, it was exceptional-the woman who served us was warm and welcoming. And the food! The omelette was stuffed with cheese. It was piping hot and the toast came out warm, too, with butter covering the toast (I hate cold toast with a squirt of liquid fat). The breakfast potatoes were fresh, perfectly crispy, and notable for the lack of rancid fat after taste that so many diners have on their potatoes. Also, the diner was CLEAN!! It was old, charming, but-and I can’t stress this enough-clean. The floor wasn’t sticky or slippery. The old sports memorabilia and pictures on the wall weren’t dusty or grimy. The condiments weren’t scummy. The salt and pepper shakers sparkled. And the bathroom, while also old, was very, very clean. Our new favorite Saturday morning outing!

Love this place & family that run it! Best tasting food, higher price but super large portions. Super friendly people, small mom & Pop Place to go to. Glad we found the place.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Service was so friendly and top notch. Food was amazing. Makes me mad I ever went to Perkins. This is easily the best breakfast in Eagan if not the southern metro. Cannot recommend enough!

Loved this spot! Friendly, welcoming and great food. It's a small greasy spoon, except without the grease. :) The ladies working were extremely nice and service was fast.

Hidden gem! We are visiting and wanted a nice homey-feeling breakfast and found Hovie’s. The waitstaff were very nice and attentive. The food is GREAT! It was exactly what we were craving. They prefer you pay with cash, so make sure you take some!
